Potash Farm
Benefits
The proposed two wind turbine development at Potash farm, near Wyverstone in Suffolk, has the potential to provide all the clean, green energy for 3,600 homes for the next 25 years.
Wind Power Renewables has committed to the establishment of a community fund proportional to the size of the project. Local people will guide the use of the fund and the company will support in administration and delivery. The fund will receive an annual top-up from the project of typically £1000 per installed Megawatt of capacity. For Potash this fund is expected to receive over £6,000 per annum, this will equate to well in excess of £150,000 over 25 years.
"Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, RSPB and WWF, are calling on the UK Government to put in place funding and incentives to encourage investment in much more wind power." Quote from Friends of the Earth
